Urban Renewal Program ends in Washington, D.C.

President Gerald Ford signs legislation that phases out federal funding for the program over the next three years. Boston’s urban renewal areas include Bedford-West, Boylston-Essex, Brunswick-King, Campus High School, Charlestown, Downtown-Waterfront, Fenway, Government Center, Kittredge Square, New York Streets, North Harvard Street, North Station, Park Plaza, St. Botolph Street, School-Franklin, South Cove, South End, South Station, Sumner Street, Washing Park, Waterfront-Faneuil Hall, West End, Whitney Street.
